Pathway to success: Invictus Solutions to sponsor key conference

24th Jul, 2023

The 6th Annual Australian Islamic Schooling Conference (AAISC6): A Focus On Wellbeing – Āfiyah is just around the corner, and Invictus Solutions is delighted to announce that it has come on board as a Platinum partner of this most important and prestigious event.

The Conference, which will be held over two days (Saturday August 19 and Sunday August 20) at Minaret College at Springvale (a south-eastern suburb of Melbourne), has earned recognition as Australia’s foremost event of its kind.

It is dedicated to exploring, discussing and sharing academical research, practising insights and school-based examples related to all aspects of Islamic schooling.

The event is being organised by the Centre of Islamic Thought and Education (CITE) at the University of South Australia, in collaboration with the Islamic Schools Association of Australia (ISAA).

Missing from the calendar in 2021 and 2022 owing to the challenges associated with COVID-19, this year’s conference has the central theme of Wellbeing – Āfiyahfocusing on the immense benefits of prioritising wellbeing in Islamic schools.

The significance of a wellbeing-centric approach in Islamic schools cannot be understated as it has been shown to lead student enhancement and engagement, improve academical performance, reduce absenteeism, improve student behaviour and create a greater sense of community among students and staff.

Throughout the weekend, conference participants will have the opportunity to engage with thought-provoking presentations from academics, scholars, school leaders, teachers and policy makers.

The event promotes networking and exchange of ideas –  and helps forge positive relationships across a very diverse range of attendees.

The key focus areas of the conference include:

  1. How other educators in Islamic schools understand, deal with, experience, foster and enhance wellbeing.
  2. What approaches Islamic schools undertake to achieve wellbeing for their leaders, educators, learners and administrative staff.
  3. How Islamic schools negotiate the demands of conforming to the Australian National curriculum and fostering of wellbeing.
  4. Examining what pastoral care school/classroom-based examples are available and how they foster and enhance wellbeing, and
  5. Exploring what creative and innovative policies are in place to foster wellbeing in Islamic schools.

The three distinguished keynote speakers at the conference are Dr Paul Kidson (a renowned Educational Leadership academic since 2017) and highly respected Muslim community leaders Sheikh Ibrahim Abdullah Newman and Sr Hanan Dover, who both also possess very formidable academic qualifications.

Additionally, the conference also boasts a very long and impressive lineup of highly qualified presenters from various fields.

Invictus Solutions is honoured to join Crescent Wealth as a Platinum sponsor for the event.

(Other organisations lending their support to the conference include Compass, the Islamic Society of South Australia and the Islamic Arabic Centre/Masjid Al Khalil, while Minaret College is providing in-kind assistance.)

With a diverse range of services from educational Workshops to Mentoring, Counselling and Consulting, Invictus Solutions assists its clients to address the challenges faced by members of the community.

It is a community-led and purpose driven business for good, founded by inspirational community leader Dean Mousad, a dedicated professional who has made a significant and positive impact on the lives of his fellow Australians – both Muslims and non-Muslims.

Dean is also the co-founder of acclaimed charity Brothers In Need (inaugurated in 2015 and currently doing great work to assist vulnerable Australians across the eastern states) and also Project Qur’an, another charitable organisation which has being doing integral work in the Dawah space since 2019.

Under Dean’s directorship, Invictus Solutions has emerged as a key player in the field of educational workshops since 2022, during which time, he has painstakingly put together a highly-skilled team of school workshop facilitators.

These facilitators share the same values as Dean and these workshops (which address critical real life issues faced by young people and students in 2023) are gaining widespread recognition – with workshops currently being delivered  across Australia.

Commenting on Invictus Solutions’ involvement in the conference, Dean  said: “We are proud to be a part of the 6th Annual Australian Islamic Schooling Conference as a Platinum sponsor.”

“We believe that fostering wellbeing in educational environments is crucial to empowering students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.”

“We are dedicated to collaborating with educational institutions to create nurturing environments which support the holistic development of students.”

“Together we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and educators alike, empowering the next generation of leaders.”

“At Invictus Solutions, we are proud of what we have achieved in a relatively short period of time and we will strive to continue making a positive impact in the Muslim community and education sector.”
